NH Research 9410-48 Regenerative Grid Simulator

The NHR 9410-48 Regenerative Grid Simulator is a versatile four-quadrant AC/DC source intended for grid simulation and testing. It includes configurable phase outputs (1, 2, or 3), a maximum power of 48kW/126kVA, and supports both AC and DC outputs, making it ideal for testing solar inverters and other grid-connected devices. Its regenerative mode enables the simulator to feed power back into the grid, increasing energy efficiency and reducing heat loss.

The NHR 9410-48 is outfitted with a high-resolution digital measurement system that allows it to record and evaluate voltage, current, power, and timing data instantly. It does away with the requirement for external meters or analyzers by concurrently digitizing all six channels of voltage and current at a rate of 1MS/sec. The NHR 9410-48 has a number of control options, such as a built-in touch panel for simple operations, PC-based software for controlling test programs and modifying waveforms, and support for custom programming using drivers for SCPI, VX-11, LabVIEW, or IVI. Users can rapidly set it up and start testing because of its seamless integration into a variety of testing environments.

With more than 25 safety systems in place, the NHR 9410-48 places a high priority on safety and protection. To avoid malfunctions and guarantee the safety of operators and equipment, they include hardware- and software-based safeguards. If required, the system can physically unplug from the grid or the unit under test (UUT), and manual shutdown is possible via the emergency stop button.

The NHR 9410-48 provides a reactive power capability that is higher than its true power rating. With user-defined waveshapes and pre-programmed macros, it can imitate a broad variety of power line disturbances. It is the perfect instrument for rigorous grid-tied device testing because of these capabilities, which enable it to recreate the voltage harmonics, transients, and phase leaps required by regulatory standards.
